The experience of cataract removal by Mr CHAWLA was amazing as far as I am concerned having had both removed by him he has given me back my sight!
After my follow up consultation he tells me I do not need spectacles for distance and that I do not need expensive glasses from an optician for reading just an over the counter pair from any garden centre, pharmacy or cheap opticians (that’s if there is such an establishment). I am on top of the world!

I recently had eye surgery at Queens hospital,Romford. The appointments leading up to the surgery were with Mr Chawla. I was told exactly what was involved and had every confidence in him. On the day of the surgery Mr Chawla chatted to me when I initially entered he operating theatre and was very reassuring and put me at my ease. Post operative appointments were firstly dealt with one of his doctors but the final appointment was with Mr Chawla who was very caring and gentle when removing my nasal tube. I have every confidence in Mr Chawla and his team.

Mr Chawla and his team were fantastic from start to finish. They explained the procedure and after care and followed on the high standard of care in surgery and after care appointments. I could not recommend more highly.

Mr Chawla was an extremely pleasant and helpful on consultations and during my operation to both eyelids. I had a blepharoplasty which is normally considered cosmetic especially for women in January 2017 I was refused funding. Mr Chawla told me I really needed the operation.? I appealed and was given funding!
It took nearly 2 years in total but with Mr Chawla help it has now been done on 15th September and today the 2nd of October he has discharged me. He dealt with me like a person not a number and was always polite and caring a lovely doctor who has really made a difference to me. Thank you a million trillion I am so grateful for his help and professionalism throughout my journey.

I had a swelliing removed from an eye. The organisation for the operation was first class and I was delighted that although wide awake I didn't feel a thing and the operation was completely successful and there were no after-effects. I would have complete trust in Mr Chawla if I had any other problems with my eye(s).

Mr J S Chawla is an experienced consultant eye surgeon specialising in Lens replacement surgery, multifocal, toric and piggyback lens implants, and complex cataract surgery. He has extensive experience in Oculoplastic surgery including correction of malposition of eyelids,ptosis, blepharoplasty, brow lift, removal of lesions around eyes with radio-frequency surgery, blocked tear ducts and botulinum toxin therapy for hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm.
Other areas of expertise include Glaucoma management, treatment of dry eyes, blepharitis and Argon and Yag laser procedures.
